The function of the Consultation/Education component is to enhance knowledge of school board staff with respect to the characteristics of students with ASD. Areas highlighted include the principles of effective behavioural teaching and other evidence-based teaching strategies. Pathways responds to requests for training and consultation from school boards in Prince Edward, Hastings, Lennox & Addington, Frontenac, Leeds & Grenville, and Lanark counties.
The Connections for Students program assists children and youth being discharged from the IBI program in the transition to a full-time school setting. This program aims to make the transition as smooth as possible and ensure that the child's school and teacher are aware of the skills the child has developed.
