Pathways for Children & Youth

Nexus Day Treatment Service

The Nexus service is a classroom-based program provided in partnership with local school boards. The program offers support to children who are struggling to succeed in school, and for whom previous in-school support has not been sufficient. This program is geared toward students with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs that interfere with their successful adjustment within a community school environment.

The Day Treatment program typically lasts one school year, with the goal of helping children develop the skills they need to function in a regular classroom setting. Staff interacts with the home school, providing feedback on the child's progress so supports are in place upon the child's return.
